Noted documentary director Sourav Sarangi said his
documentaries are intended for the decision makers in the society who could
make a change, and that includes politicians, bureaucrats and others who are in
power. He was speaking at the final ‘Face 2 Face’ conducted by the 6th
IDSFFK.
Gauri Chadha who participated in the session, said that her
film “Gawah” which is about Post-Independent India and Partition, is not shot
from the eye of a journalist, rather from the eyes of a human being. The façade
of the film is irrelevant, only the emotion being conveyed is relevant – she
said.
Vetrimaran, the filmmaker who is also a jury member of the
festival opined that the festivals should give more space to to alternative
non-linear works. There is a wrong notion that a short film is a short version
of a feature film- he opined.
