Third day of sixth International
Documentary and Short Films Festival of Kerala is packed up with full colors
that will lead to nothing less than enriching and energizing the audience.
Today a total of 47 documentaries and short films under various categories will
light up the sliver screens in the three venues of the festival.
The day’s screening will start with Vision Du
Reel winner Mathew’s Law directed by Marc Schmidt. First preference for most of
the delegates for the day is ‘Alfie’ directed by Thomas Mathai which is in the
competition for best short fiction award.
This short film had its screening in the most prestigious Cannes Film
Festival 2013. Another attraction of the day is Prasanna Ramaswamy’s ‘Lights on
Adoor Gopalakrishnan’. This documentary upon malayalam’s personal pride Adoor
Gopalakrishnan spreads light to the making of his films. The man who needs no
introduction, Santosh Sivan directed ‘A Farmer from Kuttanad’ is another
highlight of the day. This documentary is expressed by many critics as Santosh
Sivan’s 50 minutes of reality.
One of the most famous works of
world renowned French film director Alain Resnais’ ‘Statue must die’ is a sure
crowd puller which is having the screening under the history of documentary
section. This is co-directed by Chris Marker, another legend of French Cinema.
The day will come to an end with
the video musical performance by Vidya Shah at Kairali. This performance is
going to be a new experience for the audience of the festival.
